A condominium or condo is a type of housing facility that contains individual units mainly for residential purposes. Although similar to an apartment in structure, condominiums differ from apartment in terms of ownership. While apartments are usually owned by developers and rented by tenants, condominiums have individually-owned units. Owners of condominium units also have the option to rent out the space they own to tenants.

Aside from matters of ownership, condos and apartments differ in the amenities and services they offer. Apartments are mostly for residential purposes, while condominiums can be used as offices, retail shops and storage rooms. Condos are usually designed with luxurious and comfortable amenities, since these are usually located in major metropolitan areas and cities around the country. Condominiums are also widespread in areas with beach resorts.

Some popular condos are found in cities like Panama City Beach in Florida, where many beach resorts flourish on the coastline. These condos are specially built as accommodations for visitors who want a vacation in the city. Many of these beach condominiums offer recreational activities such as parasailing, kayaking, and snorkeling. Various fine dining restaurants and bars are also available to condominium tenants.

Many condominium developers are now working on the innovation of condominium buildings, turning these buildings into hotel-like facilities that can accommodate rentals and offer improved daily services. Panama City Beach condo rentals are among the condominiums that offer these kinds of services.

Developers in the hotel industry are also looking into the possibilities of cashing in on the popularity of beach condos. Hotel owners these days put up beach condominiums that offer first-class amenities and services similar to hotels. This is why many Panama City Beach condo rentals feature a lot of hotel-oriented services, in addition to traditional condo services.

The shift from hotel ownership to condominium ownership can be compared to buying a company outright. By engaging in a certain outright sale agreement, a hotel owner can generate income from the condominium he or she decides to develop. Alternatively, the same agreement made for Panama City Beach condo rentals can be applied for owned units, only that the services utilized shall be paid for by the unit owners.
